Want to know what a learning path is, how to use it and what it can do for your learners? Go to our dedicated article.
1. Creating a learning path
Complete the form to create your learning path:
- Name: This is the name that will be displayed on the App for your learners. You can change it later.
- Reference: this is the unique reference for your learning path, which will allow you to find it easily in the Mission Center. The reference consists only of alphanumeric characters, hyphens and underscores, without spaces. You will not be able to change it later.
- Choose your main category: Your learning path must be associated with an existing category to appear in the application. You can associate it with a second category later.
- Default language: Choose the language in which you want to create your learning path. Remember to choose a language that is part of the available languages of the courses that will be part of your learning path.
Click on "Create" to confirm the creation of your learning path.
2. Administrating your learning path
The administration of a learning path includes :
- adding a thumbnail image (750 x 545 px.)
- managing the details of the learning path: you can choose a secondary category or activate the comments
- creating the access rules: you can register your learners to the learning path, possibly adding start and end dates for access.
Note: The rules for accessing the learning path automatically give access to the courses that compose the learning path. Learners will then be able to access the course in its category or via the learning path.
3. Editing your learning path
In the content edition of your learning path you can :
- change the title of the learning pathway,
- add a description,
- add keywords to make it easier for learners to find your learning path.
Then add the training courses that will be part of your learning path. To do this, click on "New step", type in the first few letters of the course (or its reference) and select the one you want from the drop-down list. You can then confirm by clicking on "Save".
Note: you can only add courses that have been published at least once.
4. Testing and publishing your learning path
Before publishing your learning path, you need to make a test version: this allows you to see how it looks on the application - you need to be a content reviewer to see the test version in the application.
Note: If the training courses in your learning path have an "Edit" or "Test" status, the last published version of these courses will be used to create the Test version of your learning path. This means that even if the learnig path is in Test version, the training courses are published and the usage statistics will be shown for each of them.
After testing your learning path, you can go back to its edition or publish the learning path to make it available to everyone registered in your access rules.

5. Options for editing a learning path
This icon allows you to access the administration page of the associated course. This allows you to easily access the course content edition to make any changes.
This icon allows you to replace the course with another one: you can type the first letters of its title or reference to find it easily.
This icon will take you to a pop-up that will lock/unlock courses under certain conditions. (See below for more information).
This icon allows you to delete the course in question. The option is disabled if the learning path has already been published at least once. |
Unlocking options
By default, no step in your learning path is locked. However, you can decide to lock a step and unlock it under certain conditions:
- by PIN code
- subject to the successful completion of another step - the learner must then have completed all the activities scored in the step you have selected.
Once an unlocking option is selected, the lock icon is closed to inform you that this step is blocked.
Note: The unlocking options only work on a published learning path. They do not work while the learning path is in Test version.
6. FAQ
Does a learner who has access to a learning path automatically have access to the courses within it?
Yes, giving access to a learning path means giving access to the courses that make up the learning path. It also means that learners can access the courses in their category: facilitate your learners' pathway to the learning path.
How do I know that a learner has access to my course via a learning path?
If a learner has been added in an access rule at the level of a learning path, the information is listed on the access rules of the course: an access rule is visible, based on the learning path in question.
If I click on "Learners Count", I will see the list of learners linked to this access rule. This access rule can only be changed in the administration of the learning path.
Can I update my learning path once it has been published?
If your learning path has already been published, you can always go back to the Edit status to replace a course with another or to add conditions for locking/unlocking steps. However, you will not be able to delete a step from the learning path.
What happens if a training course that is part of my learning path is deleted?
A training course that is part of a test or published learning path cannot be deleted. If a Mission Center manager tries to delete it from the administration page of the course in question, he will be prevented from doing so:
How do I update the content of the courses that are part of my learning path?
You can edit the content of courses that are part of your learning path. In order for the changes to be reflected in your learning path step, you will need to publish the course AND republish the learning path. This is because the learning path always uses the latest published version of the courses in it.
Can we add a certificate, badges or a ranking to the learning path?
It is not possible to add these options at the learning path level. However, you can activate these options on each of the steps that make up the learning path.
Is it possible to activate Learning Communities on a learning path?
Yes, you can add the "Comments" option to a learning path.
If a learner has access to a learning path, can he or she see the courses that are part of it elsewhere than in that learning path?
Yes, when a learner has access to a learning path, they automatically have access to the courses that make up the learning path. This means that they will see the courses via the learning path and also in the categories in which they are positioned.
The learner can then follow the course at any point: their progress will be taken into account both within the category and within the learning path.
