The expertise repository consists of a list of expertises referenced in the company.
The coach can access this list of expertises in order to assess a learner.
This list of expertises and the results of the evaluations have two main objectives: recognizing talents and revealing key development focus on an individual level ; knowing and managing skills and talents of talents at a company level.
In what order do the expertises appear on the application?
Within the application, the expertises appear in alphabetical order.
Who can create or edit the expertise repository?
Once the Coaching add-on is activated, only super admin managers and managers with the role "Can manage the expertise repository" can access the "Expertise repository" section in the left menu.
They can then create, edit, archive or reactivate the expertises that the coaches can use for their evaluations.
How to create a new expertise?
You can manually create the expertises from the repository one by one, or choose to import expertises via CSV file. Creating expertise directly in the Mission Center is a quick, efficient action if you only have a few expertise to create or translate. If you want to manage your list of expertises, then we advise you to import your repository.
To create an expertise directly on the Mission Center:
- Click on "Create" in the menu at the top of the screen.
- Complete the requested information:

- The title of the expertise - can be changed later. It should allow your coach to recognize what the expertise refers to right away.
For example: “Active Learning and Learning Strategies” - The expertise reference (only letters, numbers, dash or dots) - also editable. It allows you to classify your expertise.
For example, you can indicate a year reference, or the reference of a service or category of expertise: 2022-Top-Skills-2 - Details of the expertise - optional and editable later. This field allows you to further explain the expertise and how to assess it. It is essential to support your coach in his missions.
For example: “Understanding how best you learn and being able to discuss this”.
The detail of the expertise is visible to the coach when he performs an assessment, it is also visible in the PDF export that can be shared with the learners.
- The title of the expertise - can be changed later. It should allow your coach to recognize what the expertise refers to right away.
- Click on “Save” to save the expertise.
It will be immediately available in the list of expertise accessible from the Coaching add-on.
How to import a list of expertises?
Click “Import” from the menu at the top of the screen.
Download it and open it with an Excel-type spreadsheet.
There are 5 colums in the Excel file:
- Reference code: add the expertise reference here
- Language: enter the language code corresponding to the translation of the expertise
- Name: add the name of the expertise in the corresponding language
- Description: add the details of the expertise, in the corresponding language
- Archived: indicate here whether the expertise should be archived (Y) or active (N).
Thanks to this file, you can add all the expertises of your repository as well as their translation. To do this, remember to add the correct reference for the expertise and the corresponding language code.
Once the file is complete, save it as CSV UTF-8 and import it into the Mission Center.
Note: once your expertises have been created or imported, you will be able to access this list on the Mission Center. They are visible and editable by the super admin, as well as by the managers having the role “Can manage the Expertise repository”.
Once the expertises have been created on the Mission Center, you can search for them using a keyword, filter the display by status (Active / Archived / All) or export them in CSV format (for translation for instance) .
