How to export the content of a training course?

Perhaps you have created your training course using the web authoring tool, and now you would like to retrieve the content? This is perfectly feasible using the functionality for exporting / importing activities. 

Note: this feature is available from version Callisto 3.0 of the Mission Center.

1. Exporting your activities and media

Export of content is carried out activity by activity. It is not possible to download the content of all the activities belonging to your training course with a single click. 

Two options are available to you for downloading the content and media of your activities:

Option 1 : exporter the content from the training course structure

You can export the content of your activities by clicking on the download arrow, without having to enter the editing mode for each activity.

• Select the language in which you want to retrieve your content (it is possible to download several language versions at the same time)
• If you also with to download the media associated with your activity (image files, audio, video and PDF documents), make the corresponding selection
• Click on Download.

Option 2 : exporter the content whilst editing the activity

When you are in the process of authoring or editing your activity, you can at any time decide
to download the automatically saved content. 

• Click on the Upload / Download button)
• Click on Download Content  
• Select the language in which you want to retrieve your content (it is possible to download several language versions at the same time)
• If you also wish to download the media associated with your activity (image files, audio, video and PDF documents), make the corresponding selection 
• Click on Download.

Note: you can also download your media by selecting "Manage media" from the drop-down list.

 2. What format do I retrieve my content? 

The content of your activities is downloaded in the form of Excel® templates.

• The parameters of your activity are in the Configuration  tab
• The conclusion of your activity is in the Configuration tab
• The customization options (changes of background, cursors, etc.) are also found in the
  Configuration tab
• The content of the cards or questions in your activity can be found in the Cards  tab

When you export the content of an activity including the media, you download a .zip file containing: 

• The Excel® template(s) named as follows: course name - activity name - language code(EN / FR / ...) 
• A "media" folder with as many sub-folders as there are languages selected for download. You will find the media available in each of the training course languages.

Once the content has been exported, you are free to modify it directly in the Excel® template if you wish in order to reimport it

3. Which elements are exported and which are not?

When you export content, you can download:

• the up-to-date Excel® templates in each of the languages available for your activity 
• all the media items integrated into the activity

The items not currently downloaded are as follows:

• the training course title, keywords and description
• titles of the modules and titles of the activities

If you need these elements, for instance for the purpose of translating your course to create an additional language version, you will need to put them into a separate Excel® file.
