The roles

When the manager account is created in the Mission Center, there is no automatically assigned role. It is necessary to update this section in order to give the manager an access to the back office functionality(ies) :

Categories and training courses

• Can manage the catalog (both training courses and categories): the manager accesses the menu of categories and can then create / modify / manage a category but also move a training course from one category to an other
• Can create training courses: the manager can create / modify / manage a training course (but not its content)
  • can generate licenses (on-the-shelf content)
  • can import licenses (on-the-shelf content)
• Can create content: the manager access the authoring page of the training course and can then create / modify / manage modules and activities
  • Can automatically translate content: the manager has access to the Automatic translation feature
• Can publish training courses: the manager can publish a training course when the Test version has been validated, but can not create / modify / manage modules and activities
• Can create and manage Live sessions: by default, a manager having this role can see the Live! sessions created by him/her and by super admin accounts
  • Can view the Live! sessions in the perimeter: with this role, it is possible to ALSO see the Live! sessions created by other managers from the same perimeter as ours - defined in the custom fields

Learners and communications

• Can access the learners section: a a manager can access the learners of his/her defined filter or those enrolled in training courses to which he/she has access
  • Can send communications
  • Can moderate comments
• Can delete learners massively: a manager can delete learners of his/her defined filter

Statistics

• Can view reports: a manager can see the learners statistics of his/her defined filter or those enrolled in training courses to which he/she has access

Administration

• • Can create managers (administrators)
  • Can manage publishers (on-the-shelf content)

Coaching add-on

• • Can be a coach in the coaching add-on: if the Coaching add-on feature is enabled, a manager can become a coach in order to interact with learners (discussions, expertise evaluation, training course recommendations). 
  • Can manage the Expertise repository: a manager can create the list of expertise the coaches will be able to evaluate. 

The scope

• Filters : it defines which group of learners the manager can manage (view, create, deactivate) based on the values of the filters he/she can access.

• Access to training courses: it defines which applications and training courses the manager is allowed to manage.

* For this right, the Mission Manager must also have the Learner Manager role
